How to play

  • Pick a bike and a circuit, then press Race! The GP Rookie is ready straight away.

  • Press S or the down arrow to brake before a corner. A and D (or the arrows) lean and steer.
  • The faster you go, the wider you turn. Brake first, then lean in and open the throttle on the way out.

Superbike racing in 3D

Superbike GP 3D is a free motorbike racing game that you play in your browser. You line up on the starting grid with five other riders, watch the red start lights come on one by one, and go when they go out. Then it is three laps of braking, leaning and accelerating round a real circuit, with the other riders fighting for every place. Can you be the first one across the line?

Each circuit is a full 3D race track. There are red and white kerbs on the corners, a start and finish gantry with lights, grandstands, a pit building, tyre walls and run-off areas of grass and gravel. Your rivals ride their own bikes in their own colours, and you can see them tuck down on the straights and lean into the bends right next to you.

How a superbike turns

On a superbike, speed and steering are linked. The faster you go, the less grip you have for turning, so the bike runs wide in a corner if you arrive too fast. That is why racers brake before the corner, lean the bike over to turn, then open the throttle again as they come out. You can see your rider hang off the side of the bike and the bike lean right down as you go round. Get it right and you fly through the bend. Get it wrong and you run onto the grass.

Grass, gravel and the racing line

The tarmac is where the grip is. Run wide onto the grass or gravel and you slow down a lot, and the tyre wall stops you at the edge of the track. The quickest way round is the racing line: start each corner on the outside, cut to the inside in the middle of the bend, and drift back to the outside on the way out. The kerbs mark the edges, so use them, but don't go past them.

Four circuits

Sunny Speedway is wide and flowing, the perfect place to learn the lines. Coastline GP winds along the seaside at sunset, with tighter corners. Forest Ring is a fast track with long sweeping bends through the trees at dawn. Night City GP is a tight street circuit under the lights, where the rivals are the fastest of all. Each circuit has a minimap in the corner so you can see the next bends coming.

Your rivals

Max, Luca, Aiko, Sam and Rosa ride every race. They brake for the corners, take the inside line and accelerate hard on the straights, and they get quicker on every circuit. They don't make mistakes on purpose, so you have to beat them with good braking and clean lines. The board on the screen shows the live positions, and the lap counter tells you how far there is to go.

Bikes, stars and lap times

A win earns three stars, a podium (second or third) earns two and finishing earns one. Stars unlock faster bikes. The GP Rookie is a friendly bike for learning. The Velocity R unlocks at 3 stars, the Inferno 1000 at 7 and the Champion Gold at 11, each with more speed, more acceleration and more grip. Your best lap on every circuit is saved, so you can always try to beat it.

Cameras

Press C or the camera button to switch views. The chase camera is the easiest to race with. The helmet camera puts you right on the bike, with the horizon tilting as you lean. The far camera pulls back to show the riders around you.

Tips for winning

Brake in a straight line before the corner, not while you are leaning over. Look at the minimap to see if the next corner is tight or gentle. Don't fight the other riders for the inside of a corner at the last second; it is often quicker to follow them through and pass on the next straight. And remember that a clean lap with no trips onto the grass beats a wild lap every time.

Play anywhere

Superbike GP 3D runs in any modern browser on computers, Chromebooks, tablets and phones, with no download and no account. Use the keyboard, or the GAS, BRAKE and steering buttons on a touchscreen. Your stars, wins and best laps are saved only in your own browser. There are no crashes with injuries and no violence. See the Parents & Safety page for more.
